Before launching Caroline Rosa Marketing, I spent more than two decades working in the events industry, non-profit fundraising and the arts.

When the world shut down during COVID, I started helping small businesses navigate social media and online marketing. What began as a way to help a few business owners quickly grew into a full-service agency.

Seriously, that meme that says clients will become friends before friends become clients is SO TRUE. Some of my favorite friendships have come from or grown from us working together! But it can make invoice day feel a lil awkward 😅🤣

The Reel Deal actually started because of a client.

Megan wanted to stay hands-on with her business and social media, but she didn’t have the time (or desire) to keep up with filming, editing, trends, and content planning on top of everything else she was already doing.

Summer is actually one of my favorite times to work on restaurant social media.

When things are a little slower, we have room to be intentional.

We can test new content ideas.
We can get the owner on camera. (And batch it for the fall!)

One bride told us she felt like she already knew Becky before they ever met. Her posts, videos, and personality made her feel comfortable enough to reach out.

And honestly? That’s one of the biggest goals of social media.

We want to SHORTEN the gap between discovery and inquiry.

We want people to feel like they already have a sense of who you are, what you stand for, and what it would be like to work with you.

The second story was just as interesting.

A groom told Becky he’d seen her viral video about paying the buskers in Jackson Square to pause during a ceremony. His takeaway wasn’t “that’s a funny video.”

I was incredibly honored to be asked to speak on a panel for @lesdamesnola yesterday. I was also nervous as hell (keep reading for my most embarrassing public speaking story down below…) but the conversation was so easy between me, @simonereggie, @tamlovestoeat, @stephforrer and @eatingwithcaitt, that my nerves quickly moved on and I was able to talk about a subject I’m so passionate about.

Before we step in the door of a Reel Deal client, we have had a conversation about tone and preferences and created a shot list for them to review. We aim to make about 10 reels from each session (so 15-20 per month) so you can post a reel every other day. If something is pressing, we turn that one around first!

You’re not bad at social media. You’ve just been trying to follow advice that doesn’t fit your life or your business.

So what do I actually recommend?

• Get your face on camera
I know. I know. But it’s the fastest way to build recognition and trust. People connect with people. You don’t have to overshare, you just have to be recognizable.

• Batch your content
Please stop posting in panic mode. Look at your year, map out your important dates, sales, busy seasons, and build from there. We use Later for our clients and I always recommend it as a starting point.

• Use hooks… but make them yours
Yes, they work. No, you don’t have to sound like a robot. Pay attention to what catches your attention, then rewrite it in your own voice so it feels natural.

• Tell your story
Why are you different? Why should people care? What do you actually solve for your clients? Pain points are what people relate to, and that’s what gets shared. Shares = new eyes on your business.

• Start with your FAQs
If you don’t know what to post, this is your goldmine. If one person asked it, ten more are thinking it.

• Pick a schedule you can keep
You don’t need to post every day. But you do need consistency. I recommend no less than 3x per week for most small businesses.

This is the kind of strategy that actually works long term.
Not louder. Not more chaotic. Just clearer and more consistent.
